Conquering Bruneau

I bring you a day with friends, sunlight, fresh air, peace, adventure, and sand.

I have always been a big fan of the Bruneau area, weather it be the canyon, the small town, or the dunes. The dunes however, have a lot of wonderful memories for me.

A great friend of mine, and myself spent a absolutely wonderful, crazy, spring break here once. We rode our bikes everywhere, whether it had been in sunlight, or an insane wind and thunderstorm. We also learned the hard way, to not go that back way to the big dune. We decided to walk around a lake, which was bigger than it seemed, and climb strait to the top. We thought we could easily do it between breakfast and lunch before the sun could burn us, but instead we took many many hours, and ended up as burnt as you could be.

I love this place for every little bit it has to offer. I hope if you are ever in the area that you are able to enjoy this beauty just as much as I can. Oh, but just be prepared for wind and sand. Lots and lots of wind, and lots of lots of sand...everywhere.

Here is a sneaky little video as well!

Bruneau holds the record for the highest sand dune in America, reaching 470 feet high!
